Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Event Services

What types of events does 3 Pillars Co. manage?

We produce a wide range of events including corporate conferences, fundraising galas, brand activations, cultural festivals, nonprofit events, and immersive experiential programs. Whether you’re planning an intimate 50-person gathering or a multi-day conference for thousands, our team tailors every production to your goals, audience, and budget.

What is the Event Strategy Sprint, and who is it for?

The Event Strategy Sprint is a focused 6-8 week engagement where we build the operational foundation for your event — including an event roadmap, budget framework, venue and vendor criteria, and a clear distribution of responsibilities. It’s designed for organizations planning a significant event who want strategic clarity before committing resources.

Do you provide onsite event management support?

Yes. For clients who have managed their planning internally and need experienced onsite leadership, we offer Travel Director services. Our Travel Directors provide hands-on, day-of direction and management to ensure seamless execution on the ground.

To deliver this service effectively, we require onboarding no less than three weeks prior to your event. This allows adequate time for information sharing, logistics review, and document preparation so our team is fully equipped before we arrive.

Travel Director services are priced at a daily rate per director, with travel, per diem, and accommodations billed separately.

How far in advance should we start planning our event?
We recommend engaging an event management team 6–12 months before your onsite date for large-scale productions like conferences or galas. For smaller events or activations, 3–4 months is often sufficient. If you’re in the early stages and unsure of your timeline, our Event Strategy Sprint is the perfect starting point.

Can you manage virtual or hybrid events?
Absolutely. Our team has extensive experience producing virtual and hybrid events, including livestream production, virtual attendee engagement, and platform buildout. We subcontract the technical production with our trusted partners so you can focus on delivering impactful content to both in-person and remote audiences.

What industries do you work with?
We work across sectors including nonprofit, philanthropy, corporate, health and wellness, arts and culture, and education. Our approach is rooted in culturally immersive, impact-focused design — so we gravitate toward organizations and brands that want their events to mean something beyond the day itself.

What's the difference between event management and event program development?
Event management covers the logistics, operations, and production that make an event run smoothly — timelines, vendors, on-site coordination, budgets.

Event program development is the strategic and creative layer: designing the attendee experience, curating programming, shaping the narrative, and mapping out how your audience moves through the event.

At 3 Pillars Co., we handle both — building the operational foundation and developing the creative direction that makes your event meaningful.

Do you provide hotel and venue sourcing?

Yes. We handle destination, hotel, and venue identification, RFP development and distribution, proposal comparison, rate and concession negotiation, contract review, and room block structuring. Sourcing can be a standalone engagement or part of a broader event management scope.

What is strategic meetings management?

It’s the discipline of bringing visibility and control to how an organization runs meetings across a portfolio — spend, policy, process, sourcing model, suppliers, technology, and governance. We provide advisory support to organizations building this capability without a dedicated internal meetings function.

Do you provide travel and hospitality sourcing?

Yes. Alongside venue sourcing, we source the travel and hospitality components of specialty events — retreats, incentive programs, board and donor experiences, and destination events. That includes multi-property room blocks, group and VIP air, ground transportation, and destination partner coordination. We coordinate the suppliers and consolidate billing so you have a single, straightforward way to pay.
